Recess workshops are an opportunity for the team to give back and help people explore their creative curiosity. We find people who are passionate about their creativity and help them extend their impact by allowing them to facilitate a workshop in our space.
Workshops are usually hosted in our studio space at 401 Richmond #354. It’s usually facilitated by an artist in our community vetted by our team to make space for people who are curious about what they want to teach. These workshops are a little more structured and people are asked to pay to reserve their spot to participate in the workshop. This pays for facilitators’ time and any materials that facilitators might need in order to run the workshop successfully. Most workshops usually have about 8-10 people participating in the workshop, and takes up 2-3 hours unless specified otherwise.
Facilitators are usually responsible for building and facilitating their own workshop format. The Recess team supports our facilitators by being an extra set of hands and sponsoring them through materials and space.
People who are interested in participating in a workshop usually have to pay to reserve their seat. Workshops are often run for all skill levels unless specified otherwise. Once they’ve done the workshop, we encourage participants to fill out a feedback form to let us know how we did and how we might improve.
